On 15th August 2025, Bulafu Ibrahim, Director of the Bulafu Ibraheem Foundation, extended a hand of compassion to some of the most vulnerable members of our community. He visited two elderly widows living together in Mabanga Village, Bumbobi Subcounty, Mbale District, Uganda.
These two widows, advanced in age and without the support of their husbands, live in very humble conditions. Their days are often filled with uncertainty, as access to food and basic necessities is a daily struggle. In rural Uganda, widows are among the most affected by poverty and loneliness, especially when they lack children or relatives to support them. Many times, they go without food, relying on the kindness of neighbors or the mercy of strangers.
By the mercy of Allah, this visit was made possible through the generosity of a good Samaritan (our brother donor), who provided a food package to ease their burden. This package not only brought physical nourishment but also emotional comfort, reminding them that they are not forgotten and that humanity still stands with them.
The joy and gratitude on their faces as they received this support was a clear testimony to how impactful a simple act of kindness can be. For these widows, such gestures bring renewed hope and dignity in the later years of their lives.
We sincerely pray for our brother donor — may Almighty Allah bless him abundantly, grant him endless barakah (blessings) in his wealth, protect his family, and reward him with Jannah (Paradise). May his act of generosity be a source of mercy for him in this world and the Hereafter. 🌸
However, their story is just one of many. Across Mbale District and other parts of Uganda, widows, orphans, the disabled, and elderly people continue to suffer in silence. Their struggles often go unnoticed, yet their needs are very real.
